Kick off to success with Academic Summer’s new Football Camp in Bristol

Kick off to success with Academic Summer’s new Football Camp in Bristol in partnership with British Camp! Train with FA-qualified coaches, develop leadership skills and enjoy the ideal training facilities at Sidcot School in Somerset.

Helen Lami, CEO of Academic Summer, and Vitalii Bresler, CEO of British Camp, have joined forces to launch an exciting new Football Camp in Bristol for summer 2025. Designed for young athletes aged 7 to 17, this programme offers professional football training alongside leadership development, giving students a chance to build their skills both on and off the pitch, during the Summer holidays.

The camp will take place at Sidcot, a leading independent boarding school with excellent sports facilities, including grass, astro and 3G pitches. The FA-qualified coaches will lead technical training, while interactive workshops will focus on teamwork, strategy and resilience, preparing students for success in football and beyond.

This is an ideal opportunity for international students to get a taste of life, football and education in the UK as well as for young British football fans to explore their passion.

Two great options at our Football Camp in Bristol

Students can choose between Football and English, which includes 12 hours of football training alongside 12 hours of English lessons taught by native speakers, or Football and Leadership, which combines 12 hours of football training with 12 hours of leadership workshops.

The Football and Leadership Camp is designed to develop both sporting ability and personal leadership with students studying the qualities of legendary football captains and applying these skills to their own development.

A highlight of the camp is a trip to Wembley Stadium, pictured below, where students will go behind the scenes, explore the players’ tunnel and learn about the history of English football.

Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL)

CLIL helps students improve their English language skills while focusing on their favorite subject or sport, in this case football.

Helen and Vitalii touched on the effectiveness of Content and Language Integrated Learning CLIL at a webinar in February along with Yonca Kurt who is running our Get Ready for Robotics & Coding Camp.

As Vitalii Bresler, CEO of British Camp. says: “Football has always been my favourite hobby! Learning, not so much, but mixing it with sports gets way more exciting! I can’t wait for our Football Camp in Bristol this summer in collaboration with Academic Summer Camps UK and Canada and British Camp”

Helen Lami, CEO of Academic Summer, highlights the wider impact of football: “Football is more than a game; it’s a universal language,” she says. “From the World Cup to the local pitch, it brings people together across cultures, borders and languages.

“Our football camp in Bristol will be an ideal opportunity for young footballers from across the nations to learn better English or leadership skills while playing the game they love. The camp will also help build resilience, leadership and problem-solving skills that will help students thrive both on and off the pitch.”
